In order to enjoy your flowers as long as possible here are a few tips for hand tied bouquets & floral arrangements using floral foam
Hand Tied Bouquets
- Use a thoroughly clean vase
- Add fresh water at room temperature, adding the flower food supplied. Very cold or hot water will stress the flowers.
- Remove the gift wrapping.
- Please do not cut the binding cord if your flowers have been hand tied and you wish to keep them arranged as we designed them.
- Recut each stem at an angle with a sharp knife or scissors
- Remove 2cm from the base of the stem.
- Ensure all foliage below the water line has been removed as this creates bacteria which will shorted the vase life of the blooms.
- Place vase away from direct sunlight, heaters and air conditioning units.
- Flowers do not like extreme heat, cold or drafts
- Avoid proximity to fruit as fruit produces ethylene with shortens the vase life of the blooms
- Maintain your flowers daily by removing dead or dying flowers and any foliage.
- Top up with clean water daily if necessary
- Recut the stems and change the water every few days.
- Flowers, foliage and berries are for decorative purposes only as some flowers and plants can be harmful if consumer. Flower foods is not consumable.
- Keep your flowers and foliage out of reach from children and pets
- Place a small mat under your vase to protect your furniture from any leaks or dampness from the vase.
- Remove pollen from the blooms when opened to avoid the risk of staining
Arrangements in Floral Foam
- Top up the vase or container with clean water daily as floral foam can dry out very quickly.
- Pour water in slowly, preferably over a sink in case of spillages.
- Maintain your flowers by removing any dead or dying flowers or foliage
